Museu del Pastor. Castellar de n’Hug (The Shepherd’s Museum)
The Museu del Pastor (Shepherd’s Museum) offers an overview of the past, present and future of the shepherds’ job, a job with a large tradition for so many families from Castellar de n’Hug. Every summer it is organized an International Competition of Shepherd’s Dog (Competició de Gossos d’Atura).
Jardins Artigas. La Pobla de Lillet (Artigas Gardens)
Jardins Artigas (Artigas Gardens) are naturalist in style with an emphasis on stone, water and vegetation, and were designed at the beginning of the 20th century by architect Antoni Gaudí.
The gazebo, the arched bridge, the waterfall, the grotto, the animal statuary and the murmur of water accompany you on your way through this beautifully decorated corner of nature.
Monestir de Santa Maria de Lillet. La Pobla de Lillet (Monastery of Santa Maria de Lillet)
The Romanesque monastery of Santa Maria de Lillet, located in Alt Berguedà, is traced by the Latin cross plant.
Mina de petroli de Riutort. Guardiola de Berguedà (The Riutort oil mine)
The French Jules León Clavier i Gosselet and Philippe Petit Brice created and mined the Riutort oil mine, through their company “Compañía Minera de Riutort”, created in 1906. That is the reason why this mine is known as the “French mine”.
Sala de pintures de Prinós. Bagà (Hall of paintings of the Pinós’ Palace)
Visit the Pinós i Còdol Palace main floor, located in Bagà, to know how people lived in a palace during the modern era. The five rooms, decorated with wall paintings from the XVII, XVIII and XIX, show the visitors the inside of a wealthy residence. Visitors will discover its secrets.
Església romànica de Sant Sadurní de Rotgers. Borredà (Romanesque Church of Sant Sadurní de Rotgers)
This church was built between the 11th and 12th centuries. It decoration is characteristic from the first Romanesque period, with blind arcades and pilaster strips. A bell tower rises over the nave.
Museu de les Mines de Cercs (Cercs Mines Museum)
The Museum is dedicated to coal. It explains the connection between the fossil fuel and the geological, economic and human environment.
Església visigòtica-preromànica de Sant Vicenç d’Obiols (Visigoth-Romanesque Church of Sant Vicenç d’Obiols)
The church of Sant Vicenç d’Obiols has pre-Romanesque and Romanesque elements. The church was transferred to Santa Maria de Ripoll by the Count Wilfred the Hairy.
In Fuives (Berguedà) you can visit the Nucli Zoològic de Fuives (Zoological Fuives Centre), with more than 150 specimens of thoroughbred donkeys.
For more than 30 years, its owner, Joan Gassó, realized that the Catalan donkey was endangered and began a search of the few specimens living in the area. Today there is a large population of animals to ensure the survival of the race.
